Description

To support Ghent University’s theme of Sense of Belonging, this guest lecture will dive in to take a closer look at how belonging and uniqueness create experiences of inclusion. However, this begs an important question: in an era where academic institutions and workplace organizations are more diverse than ever before, how does an organization create a climate of belonging? Additionally, does this change when accounting for the presence of a neurological condition such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or others? And if so, how should an organization respond?

With learnings derived from his consulting and research, which examines workplace-inclusion for neurodivergent adults while accounting for intersectional differences of gender, Justin will facilitate an interactive engagement that addresses these core questions. Empirical data from his studies of neurodiversity inclusion will be shared along with practical insights that can be tailored to any classroom or workplace setting.

Justin Carrero completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Queensland and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Neurodiversity in the Workplace at Monash University (Melbourne). His research focusses on how to facilitate an inclusive workplace for neurodiverse individuals when accounting for intersectional differences.

This one hour lecture will be followed by a Q&A.
