Introductory training to kickstart new researchers to work on the supercomputing infrastructure of Ghent University (https://www.ugent.be/hpc)

When: Friday 18 September 2026 (10:00-17:00 CET)

Agenda:

• 10:00 - 12:00: Introduction to HPC-UGent presentation + Q&A
  • Overview of available hardware, getting an account, using the systems, getting support, demos and examples, ...
  • Live stream via Microsoft Teams
• 12:00 - 13:00: sandwich lunch
• 13:00 - 14:00: tour of UGent datacenter, incl. visit to HPC-UGent Tier-2 clusters + VSC Tier-1 Hortense
• 14:00 - 17:00: hands-on session: Getting started with HPC-UGent
  • Login + submitting example jobs
  • Getting started with your own workloads

No specific prior knowledge is required.

It is strongly recommended to have an active VSC account.
