PhD students (maximum 25) will have the opportunity to attend a focused workshop after the lecture of Prof Dr Ali Meghji in which they apply concepts from Critical Race Theory and decolonial theory to a case study stemming from their own research. Students who enrol in the workshop will be provided beforehand with Dr Meghji’s article summarising his book and will explore, through small group activities and plenary discussions, how these theories’ key concepts can be applied to questions of social inequality and conflict in a variety of geographical contexts spanning the Global North and South.
