Since microaggressions are usually not meant in a negative way, they receive less recognition as a problem compared to explicit discrimination. UGent aims to raise awareness, encouraging everyone to reflect on their own behavior and potentially harmful remarks. In the long run, microaggressions have a significant impact on the well-being of those they are directed at.

Delia Mensitieri is a PhD researcher at Vlerick Business School, specializing in identity and inclusion in the workplace. She explores the dynamics that arise within diverse and inclusive work environments.

In addition to her academic work, Delia is an active trainer and consultant in the corporate world, focusing on diversity and inclusion. She has collaborated with various international clients and specializes in understanding microaggressions and their impact on career aspirations, performance, and well-being. Her goal is to bridge the gap between science and practice by combining the best of both worlds to create meaningful change.
