Vanuit de Learning Network of Decolonisation nodigen we jullie graag uit voor een vertoning van de documentaire Soundtrack of Coup d’État een documentaire van Johan Grimonprez die de onafhankelijkheidsstrijd van Congo in 1960 belicht door de lens van muziek en internationale politiek. De film verweeft archiefbeelden, nieuwsfragmenten en jazzmuziek.

Na de vertoning volgt een nabespreking met de regisseur Johan Grimonprez die in gesprek zal gaan met Ishy Pryce-Parchment een London-based kunstenaar werkzaam op het gebied van film en archiefonderzoek.

On behalf of the Learning Network of Decolonisation, we are pleased to invite you to a screening of the documentary Soundtrack of Coup d’État, directed by Johan Grimonprez.
The film explores Congo’s 1960 struggle for independence through the lens of music and international politics, interweaving archival footage and jazz.

Following the screening, there will be a conversation with director Johan Grimonprez, joined by Ishy Pryce-Parchment, a London-based artist working in film and archival research.
