Description

On 21 March 2025, Ghent University will award an honorary doctorate to Professor Sandra Fredman (University of Oxford). Professor Fredman is an international authority in the field of (comparative) equality and non-discrimination law, and the founder and director of the Oxford Human Rights Hub.

In order to celebrate Professor Fredman's achievements, the Faculty of Law and Criminology and the UGent Human Rights Research Network warmly invite you to an event dedicated to the societal valorisation of academic scholarship. In a keynote by Professor Fredman followed by a panel conversation, we will discuss how to bridge academia, advocacy and policy in realising social change.

The event takes place at Library De Krook (Zaal De Blauwe Vogel) on 20 March 2025, from 14h30 until 16h30. It will be followed by a reception (16h30-17h30).
