Description

How can universities maintain quality and innovation amid war and the rapid rise of Generative AI? This roundtable brings together academic leaders and policy experts from Ukraine and Ghent University to explore strategies for sustaining excellence during times of crisis and technological disruption.

Ukrainian universities are currently operating under extreme circumstances, driving them to adopt innovative solutions - particularly as AI technologies evolve at unprecedented speed. Their experiences provide valuable insights into resilience, adaptability, and creative problem-solving in higher education.

The programme will highlight:

• Institutional resilience and crisis management in higher education.
• Pedagogical transformation in the era of AI.
• Innovative approaches to Quality Assurance that address both conflict-related disruption in Ukraine and AI-driven challenges at Ghent University

The event will conclude with a forward-looking panel discussion on future-proofing higher education, addressing ethical considerations, potential risks, and new opportunities for international collaboration.
