A public lecture by Dr Emma Norris on the potential of ontologies in behavioural sciences - introducing ontologies and how they can be applied.

Dr Emma Norris will give a public lecture on the potential of ontologies in advancing behavioral sciences. The development and application of ontologies has been identified as a high priority in a consensus report of the National Academy of Sciences. The aims of this lecture will be to 

(1)          Introduce the audience to ontologies & the opportunities they provide for behavioural sciences

(2)          Present the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology and the Behaviour and Social Sciences Ontology Foundry as early adaptors of ontologies in the behavioural sciences

(3)          Present a variety of application possibilities of ontologies within behavioural sciences

(4)          Introduce resources that help researchers further familiarize themselves in ontologies and use them in their research
